Music Inspiration

Ahh, unrequited love.

Doesn't it suck?

Don't we all remember that special boy we pined after from third grade to eighth, and even though you came close to being friends, he never saw past the thick glasses and braces and flat chest and second-hand clothes and impossible-to-style-into-popular-poofy-bangs hair and all-consuming talent for making all ordinary moments painfully awkward?

Or is that just me?

Anyhow, that pain of loving someone you simply can't have is a powerful hurt, and this song just throws it in your face. It makes my heart ache. And it really, really helps zero in on the emotions of one of my favorite characters, bless her pitiable little broken heart.

Give it a listen and see what you think.

Can we in fact pretend that she is anything other than a woman scorned, like which fury Hell hath no? We cannot.

This song makes me quiver like a puppy because it's so awesome.  It also gives me the irrational urge to fill a large room with hundreds of glasses of water, hire a dancing ninja, buy up Goodwill's entire stock of china, and build a city out of paper.

It makes me imagine caves and all the evil mischief that goes on in them...oooh, I need to go write some stuff!

Inspirational Lovely

I listen to a lot of music while I write.  Every so often, I come across a song that works so well that when I listen to it, the scene practically writes itself.

BEHOLD!

I was distracted by the woman who sings the song, on the video that showed her singing.  So, I've picked one with a nice, neutral picture.  After staring at this face for three minutes, I've decided to name her Avery.

I love this song.  It's best when mixed with a hammock and some softly lapping water.  That's all I'm sayin.
