Inspirational Lovely

I listen to a lot of music while I write.  Every so often, I come across a song that works so well that when I listen to it, the scene practically writes itself.

BEHOLD!

I was distracted by the woman who sings the song, on the video that showed her singing.  So, I've picked one with a nice, neutral picture.  After staring at this face for three minutes, I've decided to name her Avery.

I love this song.  It's best when mixed with a hammock and some softly lapping water.  That's all I'm sayin.

What songs inspire your story?

Mummer's Dance by Loreena McKennitt is a huge influence for the feel of my story, and also one of my all-time favorite songs.

I was actually just thinking about posting a song-list on my blog. We always seem to do this to each other :D

I also like to type to Belly-dancing music by George Abdo.

Also, this kind of reminds me of Tristen Prettyman. If it helps you write, you might like "Hello" and "Simple as it Should be." Those are my favorites by her.

I don't usually listen to music when I write.

But when I do...

It totally depends on what kind of scene I'm writing. I love Jack Johnson and Taylor Swift for flirty scenes.

Adele and Second Hand Serenade when I need the tone to be deeper, maybe more melancholy.

Vampire Weekend sometimes is needed for random inspiration...

Pandora is cool to mix it all up. But I guess I'm just usually content being in my own head without any distraction because my toddler is a chatty cathy. So quiet is a luxury.
